The CCDC has completed construction of a new affordable home at 1817B West 10th Street, and it's hosting an Open House from 5 to 7 on Wednesday April 19th. (House actually faces Theresa Avenue.) Come see what we did. I think you will be impressed. (Landscaping to come.)
Thanks to the following for helping us make 1817B West 10th a reality:
• Austin Community Design & Development Center (ACDDC)
• AVision General Contractors, LLC
• Austin Housing Finance Corporation and Home Base, a support organization of Habitat for Humanity, Both organizations helped finance the construction of 1817B West 10th Street
• Rose Gabriel, the CCDC's fabulous property manager
Hope to see you on the 19th!
Progress is being made! This week the foundation was poured for the new affordable home the CCDC is building at the corner of West 10th Street and Theresa. It's the first big landmark in a long process.
We financed the construction of this house with City of Austin affordable housing bond funds and with some of the money that the Old West Austin Neighborhood Association (OWANA) donated to the CCDC for affordable housing in Clarksville.
Not only will the home be affordable to rent, but it will also be affordable to operate because of all of its energy saving features. We hope to have a new family living there in early 2017.
Whenever a CCDC tenant moves out of one of our properties, we use that change as an opportunity to upgrade the unit when necessary. Recently we did just that to one side of a duplex we own on West 11th Street.Read More
As if good food and a friendly staff were not reasons enough to dine at Zocalo Cafe, here's another: Zocalo has begun a rewards program called Five Stars at Zocalo, and one of your options, if you are part of the program, is to donate your points to the Clarksville Community Development Corporation (CCDC).
$1 spent equals one point earned, and once you've spent $250, you can donate $25 to us! In turn, we will use the money to help support our affordable housing program here in Clarksville.
You can become part of the Five Stars at Zocalo program via its App or by entering your phone number at the restaurant's counter before you pay for your meal. Super easy!
