Minutes for Clarksville CDC Monthly Meeting

June 16, 2026

6:30 p.m.

Haskell House 

1705 Waterston Avenue

 

 

Board Members Present: Felicia Miller, Aubrey Carter, Paula Hern, Stephanie Lang, Amanda Cox

 

1.     Presentation of monthly financial reports. Paula Hern summarized the financial report as neither Brad or BJ were able to attend the meeting. The net income for the month was $13,662.50. Other than normal monthly expenses, the main repair cost was $2,460.40 for window replacement, installation of glass door, roof and gutter repair to 1821B 10th Street. Financials are attached to the minutes.

 

2.     Monthly property reports were not presented due to Brad not being able to attend. All units are occupied.

 

3.     Haskell House monthly report was read by Aubrey. It is attached to the minutes.

 

4.     Amanda stated that Astound has not responded yet to a request for funding of the Ice Cream Social and Austin Museum Day. She will get in touch with them again. The Ice Cream Social is usually a minimal cost and members have covered the cost previously. Aubrey also said he would cover the cost of Soul Man Sam at this year’s Museum Day again.

 

5. Historical Research Ad Hoc Committee has not met yet. Stephanie will get in touch with Hannah to set a time for a meeting.

 

6.  OWANA Steering Committee president, Steve, reached out to Felecia to let her know of openings on the Committee if anyone on the CCDC Board was interested in serving.

 

7.     Other Business

a.      Sanarē Clarksville was agreeable to drop Clarksville from the development on West Lynn.

b.     Hannah drafted a rental agreement for the use of Haskell House for her research. She will need 50-75 hours during the 2026-2027 year. CCDC is not charging her given the research will be for CCDC. Hannah will keep track of her hours of use and present a monthly invoice of hours.

c.      Felicia will arrange for an interview at KOOP.

d.     For Austin Museum Day two bike groups are attending-Ride Bikes and Black History Bike Riders. Stephanie will also ask RISE to have a table.

e.      Stephanie said she will be featured in a Statesman article this coming weekend.

f.      Anyone on the Board can provide Brad with their google email to have access to the CCDC email account.
